University of Southern Mississippi , Sharon Topping, Ph.D., Professor of Management, University of Southern Mississippi , is Principal Investigator of the project titled, “Decreasing Mental Health Disparities.”  This project is designed to examine the current interface between African American churches and formal service delivery emphasizing the type of in-church services/programs being provided, pastor’s knowledge of available professional mental health services within the community, and counseling and referral practices, among others.
