Outreach Services Director

Outreach Services interfaces with every aspect of the Institute in an effort to raise awareness of rural and minority health disparities. Outreach activities are designed to position the Institute as a viable resource within the health care community and throughout the nation.  The Director of Outreach Services works with a network of health care professionals, community leaders, and institution and agency representatives to target potential funding opportunities and enhance relationships that will expand the Institute’s vision of eliminating health disparities. Outreach Services is responsible for coordinating communication with the Partners Liaison Committee, the Community Advisory Board and Institutional Advisory Board.    


Partners Liaison Committee
The Partners Liaison Committee was established to provide a forum for interested Mississippi institution and organization leaders to enhance the effectiveness of programming directed at eliminating health disparities and developing ways of coordinating efforts to access additional resources to aid in this important task. 

Community Advisory Board
The Community Advisory Board represents diverse sectors of the community and interacts to raise issues and identify areas for outreach opportunities. The Committee serves as a catalyst for relationship building and partnering with community organizations, the business community, and the individuals who live in the community across the state to insure that the work product of the Institute has relevance. 

Institutional Advisory Board
The Institutional Advisory Board utilizes expertise to ensure the Institute is compliant with the goals of the grant and functions in accordance with federal, state and University guidelines. The board is comprised of senior staff members of the University of Mississippi Medical Center.

Health Disparities Partner(s)
MIGMH's collaborative effort to partner with statewide organizations to elimante disparities and improve delivery systems of heatlh care to all individuals, especially those in rural and minority populations. Collectively these partners facilitate communication and share resources so that learning can be shared and improvements in health care will be accelerated.
